As a slam poet, Chicas is the current Champion of the TEDxUNC Spoken Word Slam, a Finalist in Slam Charlotte and Bull City Slam, and a Semi-Finalist to YouthSpeaks Brave New Voices Poetry Slam, the world’s biggest youth poetry competition.
